![]() Combine this with the beautiful variety of weaponry and a few of Wang’s other Chi-Bending techniques, such as a ‘Force Push’ style move and the wonderful crimson-tinted Fury Mode, where tunnel vision takes on a new meaning as only enemies glow against the blood-red environments. Dash in, shotgun blasts, dash out, strafe dash to reload, dash back in, rinse and repeat. The Dash is an invaluable tool that there’s no penalty for readily abusing, so the best practice is to use it almost constantly. The first thing to note about Shadow Warrior 2 is that it is fast. Wang quickly finds himself stuck with a headache which has a voice of its own, tangled up with otherworldly demonic forces and the slightly more mundane Yakuza. The premise of Shadow Warrior 2 sees Wang get the soul of a girl called Kimiko stuck in his head while her body is being “repaired,” and of course, it all goes horribly wrong in the interim. Wang uses Chi-Bending powers to access mystical abilities, chief among them an otherworldly dash which can be used mid-air to soar over enemy heads – combine this with an ample arsenal (yes there are several jokes using the word ‘arsenal’ of course) of absurd weaponry, and you have a recipe for success. Shadow Warrior 2 is a fun and frantic FPS where you fill the shoes of Wang, series protagonist, demon fraternizing bad boy and penis joke aficionado. If not, then the good news is that cutscenes can be skipped, and the gameplay is balls-to-the-wall, all out action. However, if you are looking for an FPS that is different from the usual Call of Duty flare, Shadow Warrior is worth checking out.Are you fond of jokes about male genitalia? Do you think the name “Wang” opens up a myriad of potential gags? If you are like me and think the odd dangly bit between men’s legs is somehow hilarious, then the dialogue in Shadow Warrior 2 will please you. Also, be prepared, as the game does have some tough spots that will test your skill. Sometimes, after finishing off a horde of enemies, I find myself trying to figure out how to move forward, as while the game has doors and switches flashing to show where to go next, you have to find them. The game has a good story, and the humor is nice, but one problem I have is that it is actually easy to get lost in certain levels. Like in the classic Shadow Warrior, there are secret areas that contain items, some of them being Ki Crystals which can be used to learn new powers, and karma, which is gained by killing enemies and collecting a hidden item, which grants Karma Points when enough is amassed, which is used to learn new skills, including increases to health and stamina. You also collect different firearms as you progress through the game, from the typical revolver to the well-known shotgun, to even a flamethrower and rocket launcher, all of which can be upgraded by spending money collected throughout the game, with ammo also being bought as well as found in levels. The game is basically a first person shooter, but the main difference is the katana, your melee weapon, is more focused on, as the game allows you to learn attacks with that that can attack, as well as destroy statues that block the path ahead. However, he is freed when demons begin to overrun the compound, and making a deal with Hoji, a demon who sared a bong with Mizayaki before the latter is killed, Wang has to collect the three pieces of the sword, So basically, this is a good reboot. However, Wang uses force when Mizayaki refuses to sell, only to end up being captured. He is sent with two millions dollars to purchase a sword known as the Nobitsura Kage from collector Mizayaki. Basically a remake of a first person shooter from 1997, Shadow Warrior puts you in the role of Lo Wang, a hit man working for Japanese industrial magnate Orochi Zilla. I was lucky enough to download this game on my Xbox when it was part of the Games With Gold some time ago, and I did enjoy it.
